Our Mission
Too many patients leave the pharmacy confused, overwhelmed, or simply unable to afford what they need. Honest Pharmacist exists to close that gap — offering direct, licensed pharmacist guidance at no cost to low-income and underserved patients.
We cut through the noise of insurance denials, coverage gaps, and confusing drug information to help patients actually get — and understand — the medications they need to live well.
What We Do
Every service is provided by a licensed pharmacist — not a chatbot, not a call center. Just honest, direct guidance from someone who knows medications and genuinely cares.
We help patients identify manufacturer patient assistance programs, free medication resources, and discount programs that can dramatically reduce — or eliminate — the cost of essential medications.
Insurance denials, prior authorizations, formulary gaps — we help you understand your coverage, appeal denials, and find the path of least resistance to getting covered.
When patients feel unheard or dismissed, we help. We work alongside you to communicate clearly with prescribers, insurers, and pharmacies — ensuring your voice and your needs are understood.
Our services are designed first and foremost for patients who face financial barriers to care. No income threshold, no paperwork burden — just compassionate, practical help from a pharmacist who listens.

Long medication lists, confusing instructions, scary side effects — we make it calm, clear, and manageable.
We specialize in finding resources for patients who have been told there is nothing available to them.

Honest Pharmacist was founded by Dr. Sŏ, a licensed pharmacist based in Provincetown, Massachusetts, with a simple belief: patients deserve honest, clear, conflict-free guidance about their medications — regardless of their ability to pay.
Dr. Sŏ also creates the Calm Medication Guides — a growing library of over 88 free pharmacist-narrated video guides on YouTube, making medication education accessible, gentle, and human.
Honest Pharmacist is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We have no pharmaceutical industry relationships, no advertising, and no agenda beyond your health.
